"Howdy Neighbor!"
SERIES: THIRTY PICTURES IN THIRTY DAYS
OCTOBER - 2010
....And truth be told, you do not get to choose your neighbors in Brooklyn. That's just a fact of life here. Fortunate are the residents with good ones. But I digress. Seven months into construction, the skyline around Flatbush Avenue North for the most part still remained relatively unchanged, except for one crane rising from what was still, The Pit. Way down below street level, a massive excavation effort quite literally prepared the ground floor. In short time, a wall of reinforced concrete would form a perimeter around the pit. The first vertical support beams were due to be placed within a month or so from the time this picture was taken. Off to the right is only a small sample why Brooklyn is called the Borough of Churches.
