DIVISIONAL ROUND SATURDAY
Friday Line ~ NYP/MGM
PACKERS -6 1/2 Rams
I picked the paper tigers to lose last week, and I'm calling for the Rams to lose again this week. Scoring thirty points against the Seahawks is no great achievement. Jared Goff still is throwing with a surgically repaired thumb. The Rams should also be worried about the game-time condition of Aaron Donald, who last week sustained a rib injury. There is one game I give them credit for - a November victory over the Bucs. Otherwise, the Rams schedule was soft as a pillow. I defy them to win at the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field. Packers are in their element and coming off a bye-week. If on defense the Packers win third down, they'll win this game. On the other side of the ball, if the Packers put up more points than the Seahawks did, Green Bay wins this game. The spread is under seven. I think the Packers cover.
WIN 32-18 Packers ... damn paper tigers! I told ya.
Ravens +2 1/2 BILLS
The Bills averaged 31 points this season, and the Ravens averaged 29 points. What's a degenerate gambler to do? Baltimore is the number one running team in football - over 3,000 yards on the ground. They've also yielded the second least points in football. I'm not that confident Buffalo will be able to stop the Ravens' run game. Then there's Josh Allen, who threw for over 4,500 yards this season. Like Lamar Jackson, Allen is lethal while on the run. But whereas Jackson keeps the ball, Allen throws footballs downfield. Can Lamar Jackson be enough of a pocket passer to prevent the Bills from loading the box against the run? I think so!
Loss 17-3 Bills
