L.I. DUCKS ~ Even Series Against Bridgeport.

From the desk of:  Waddling Around Breakfast

Long Island:  Even up important series with Bridgeport..

In what I think is a very important series against the Bridgeport Bluefish for the sake of keeping them at arms length, the Long Island Ducks rebounded Saturday night from their loss against Bridgeport Friday to even up this series at a game apiece.  With tonight's win, the first place Ducks regained a 2.5 game lead on Bridgeport.

After a 9-5 loss Friday, The Ducks kept the Bluefish on ice allowing them only one run in game two of this series.  Chalk this one up to the bullpen.   Ruddy Lugo came out of the game after only three innings pitched.  The bullpen was needed to finish the rest.  Mike Diapoules earned tonight's win.  Jeremy Hill earned his first save.

In six innings of work, the bullpen put up dynamite numbers;
6 ~ innings pitched.
2 ~ hits.
0 ~ runs.
2 ~ walks.
8  strikeouts.

Saturday, the bottom half of the line-up supplied the Ducks with the offense they needed.  Long Island's Dan Lyons; Matt Esquivel; Matt Padgett; and J.R. House all had an RBI each.
