Look what the Houston Astros did to the Mets, again! Monday's series opening defeat at the Astrodome makes it seven straight losses for the Mets against their expansion brothers. This time Houston starter Tom Griffin gets the best of the visiting New Yorkers, limiting them to just four hits and four walks with nine strikeouts through eight innings for the victory. Fred Gladding pitches a scoreless ninth en route to completing the shutout and picking his 24th save of the season. Ed Kranepool accounts for two of the Mets five hits. Jim McAndrew yields three earned runs on seven hits and three walks with five strikeouts through six innings pitched for the loss.
