PUNT!

* The Green Bay Packers lost for the first time this season in the same week the Colts won their first game of the season.  And now the Colts are on a two game winning streak.  Go figure.

**  The Giants visit their own stadium to take on the Jets in the first ever - SNOOPY BOWL.

***  The San Francisco 49ers are proving to be the most balanced team in the NFL!

****  Either way you look at it, the Eagles versus Cowboys game spells nothing but trouble for the Giants.

Let's do this!

WEEK SIXTEEN ~ The Big Bagel Roll Out.
(Friday's Line ~ NYDN)

HOLIDAY SEASON SATURDAY EDITION:

Giants +3 (JETS)
I have no idea.  Both teams have pluses and minuses that cancel each other out.  So when I put this game in the hands of the quarterbacks, I side with Eli.
WIN - 29-14; Giants

PostN.Y. JETS - A Clash For TITANS.

PostN.Y. GIANTS - Eve of Destruction.  But For Who?

CHIEFS -2 (Raiders)
Romeo Crennel is calling the shots now.  Nuf Ced.
LOSS - 16-13; Raiders

Broncos -3 (BILLS)
The team; the franchise; Football in Buffalo as we know it is crumbling before our very eyes.  Fifty and sixty years ago, Buffalo had a population over 600,000 strong.  Today Buffalo has shrunk to below 300,000 citizens.  What do you think?
LOSS - 40-14; Bills

Jaguars +7 1/2 (TITANS)
I like that half-point.  Otherwise I'd be going the other way.
WIN - 23-17; Titans

Cardinals +4 1/2 (BENGALS)
Yep, it's that time for the Bengals to disappoint their home crowd again.
LOSS - 23-16; Bengals

PATRIOTS -10 (Dolphins)
The Patriots don't mind driving up the score on people.  With their defense, they have to.  But the Dolphins can't score like that.
LOSS - 27-24; Patriots

RAVENS -12 (Browns)
I can't tell you how badly I want to take the points and the Browns.  But I'm not falling for the Browns anymore...remember?
LOSS - 20-14; Ravens

Vikings +6 1/2 (REDSKINS)
...Because the sun shines on a dog's behind at least once a day too.  Merry Christmas Minnesota.  Everyone in Washington D.C. deserves a lump of coal this year anyway.  Everybody!
WIN - 33-26; Vikings

PANTHERS -7 1/2 (Bucs)
The Panthers are interesting with Cam Newton.  Steve Smith will have his customary great day.  And the Bucs are just plain 'ol horrible.
WIN - 48-16; Panthers

STEELERS -14 (Rams)
Even if Big Ben doesn't play, I'll still take this chance.  St. Louis will be hard pressed to score against Pittsburgh.
WIN - 27-0; Steelers

LIONS -2 1/2 (Chargers)
Aside from Suh doing stupid things, I love the Lions' physicality.
WIN - 38-10; Lions

49ers -2 (SEAHAWKS)
The 49ers don't over-complicate things and are rock steady.  There will be no let up against the Seahawks.  I like the 49ers winning by a field goal because Seattle can play defense if they put their minds to it.
PUSH - 19-17; 49ers

Eagles +2 (COWBOYS)
I'm still rolling the dice on a colossal Tony Romo failure.  Regardless of that, the Eagles still have life.  Skill players and desperation are a dangerous mix for the Cowboys.  They should know.  They're in the same boat.  If this was Week One, I'd be saying Philly was the better team.  That team appears to be waking up albeit maybe too late.  And I just love seeing the look of dejection on Jerry Jones' face.
WIN - 20-7; Eagles

CHRISTMAS DAY GAME:

PACKERS -13 (Bears)
Winter is upon us.  It's time the Bears went into hibernation.
WIN - 35-21; Packers

OFF THE BOARD.  I DON'T DO MONDAY NIGHTS.  THIS WEEKEND HAS ME CONFUSED.
But this was my pick anyway:
SAINTS -7 (Falcons)
The Saints are home?  Sounds like a lock....right?
OMIT

SHMEAR of the WEEK:
Lions -2 1/2
Why waist time with easier picks.  After all, we're only talking Bagels here...right?
WIN

POST GAME:

WEEK SIXTEEN RECORD:   8-5-1
OVERALL RECORD:   114-91-9
SMEAR of the WEEK:  WIN; 7-8-1
BAGELS in the BASKET:  +6

Happy Holiday Football Saturday everyone!  May your team get a win for Christmas and your weekend be bright.
