Winston-Salem Dash Salvage Finale For Series Split

With single runs in the final three frames, Winston-Salem held on to win Sunday's finale and salvage a split of their first-ever series on Coney Island.  The Dash scored against five of six Cyclone pitchers faced.  Only Justin Courtney kept Winston-Salem off the board with 1.1 scoreless innings.  Starter Luis Moreno allowed one run on three hits and two walks with three strikeouts in a brief three-inning outing for the loss.  Brooklyn drew five walks, mustered six hits, but left ten runners on base and batted 1 for 6 with runners in scoring position.  Left fielder Matt Rudick hit a solo home run in the eighth, his third this season.  Brooklyn presently leads the Hudson Valley Renegades by one-half game in the North Division standings with thirty games left on their schedule.
