Darius Victor Runs to Daylight
New Jersey powers past the Pittsburgh Maulers for their seventh straight victory. Their 29 points scored are a new season-high, while the game marked the sixth time the Generals held their opponent under twenty points.
After the teams traded first-quarter touchdowns, the Generals posted 16 unanswered points in the second quarter and took a 23-7 lead into the half.
Luis Perez remained behind the helm. He completed 18 of 24 attempts for season-high 220 yards with a touchdown pass and no turnovers. KaVontae Turpin caught five passes for 83 yards and connected with Perez on a 24-yard play for six points.
The Generals ran for 159 yards. With 17 rushes for 87 yards and three touchdowns, Darius Victor led the way. He now leads the USLF with nine rushing touchdowns. Trey Williams was next with 12 attempts for 66 yards.
New Jersey wins the season series against Pittsburgh and has two games remain on the schedule against the Michigan Panthers and Philadelphia Stars.
Entering week eight, only the Birmingham Stallions had a better record.
