New York Mets: Amazins have rarely if ever benefited from a genuine home field advantage through the nearly ten years since Citi Field has been open for business.
Little mention has been made insofar as the Mets being in the midst of their tenth season playing at Citi Field. To which the official tenth anniversary celebration must wait till next season.
Opened in 2009, Fred Wilpon's shrine to his beloved Brooklyn Dodgers is indeed closing in on its tenth birthday. I assume part of that commemoration will include some uniform patch irreverently representative of Ebbets Field.
How can it not?
At the same time, let us not put it beyond ownership to re-brand the original Domino Pizza design.

The Mets posted an overall 700-758 record through their first nine seasons at their third address of record. This year, after jumping out to an organizational best 11-1 start, they've since gone 16-33 (.326) for an overall 27-34 record and fourth place standing in the N.L. East. Thus entering Sunday evening's subway series finale against the Yankees, the Mets bring a sub par 727-792 (.478) mark since moving into Citi Field nine and one-half seasons ago.
On Saturday, the Mets added to Citi Field's slowly growing list of milestones when they dropped their tenth consecutive game at home. It's been three full weeks (May 21) since they last captured victory in Queens (a 2-0 whitewash over the last place Marlins). Miami then won two straight for a series victory.
They would go on to lose another five of eight games on the road against the Brewers and Braves, and return home one game above the .500 threshold. Once back at Citi Field, the Mets proceeded to lose four straight against the Cubs, a pair against the moribund Orioles, and have so far dropped two straight against the Yankees.
Sunday marks the end of this home stand. Then it's back on the road through Atlanta, Arizona, and Colorado.
