CAMDEN RIVER SHARKS WIN HOME OPENER.
The Camden River Sharks defeated the Long Island Ducks 5-2 in Camden's Home Opener at Campbell's Field Tuesday night. Camden's DH-Brian Burgamy (3 for 4) hit a two run home run in the second inning. In the fifth inning, Toby Hall connected on another two run home run after a Mike Lamb double drove in the River Sharks third run of the game.
Chris Mason picked up the win for Camden. In five innings, he gave up only two hits; he struck out two and walked two in helping the River Sharks gain their first victory of the season.
The Ducks scored two unearned runs in the 7th inning, but could muster little else, with only four hits on the night. Lenny DiNardo took the loss in his Ducks debut. The Ducks have now lost two in a row after winning their first two games against Bridgeport.
Long Island's Javier Colina came out in the 7th inning with an abdominal strain after going 1 for 3 in the game.
