2010 SERIE CARIBE
With Puerto Rico's Mayaguez team's victory this afternoon over Mexico's Naranjeros de Hermosillo, the Domincan Republic's Leones de Escogido can either win the Serie Caribe Championship with a victory tonight versus Venezuela, OR should they loose play a one game playoff against Puerto Rico for a tie-breaking Championship game in this round-robin format.
Puerto Rico bounced back after loosing their first two contests but could find themselves with a chance to play for a Caribbean Chapionship with a D.R. loss tonight. The Dominican Republic has been on top of the standings through-out the series having come in as the favorites. Venezuela's Leones de Caracas and Mexico have been eliminated. The team with the best record after 6 games is declared champion. So, as things go, it will be nice to see this years champion win it on the field. It could be tonight. It could be tomorrow.
Standings as of this afternoon Feb. 7th:
D.R. 4-1
P.R. 4-2
MEX 2-4
VEN 1-4
