LIU Blackbirds ~ Drop Third Straight to Penn State

From the desk of:  THE HOOPS OF FLATBUSH

The New York Knicks and the NJ/BKN Nets
did not play tonight.

L.I.U. BLACKBIRDS:  Flatbush Cagers Lose Third Straight.

I'm sure this is not the kind of start Coach Ferry envisioned for his team.  And so early on, he has some work to do getting his guys straightened out.

The Blackbirds are now losers of their first three games this season.  This Wednesday night, they lost their second game of the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament to Penn State by a final 77-68 score.  Julian Boyd and Michael Culpo were tied for the team lead in scoring with fifteen points apiece.  Gerell Martin added thirteen points off the bench.

LIU dropped the first game of the tournament to Old Dominion on Monday by a 77-69 score.  And of course, they lost to Hofstra to begin the season.  Saturday they'll return to the floor in Uncasville, Connecticut to take on Radford and wrap up the tournament on Sunday.
