4th of July Road Trip II
PHILADELPHIA
We left Pittsburgh midway through July 2nd's Giants/Pirates game wanting to arrive in Philadelphia at a reasonable time so as to enjoy a nice sit-down dinner. Open road and a great Italian restaurant across the street from our hotel provided just that. After which, we continued winding down at the hotel lounge until the ESPN game ended, then called it a night.
PITTSBURGH
If you think about it ... what better place to be on 4th of July weekend than in the cradle of independence? So after a good breakfast, the wife and I got an early start on our national holiday excursion through historic Philadelphia.
For lunch, my wife nailed it with a craving for Mexican at Lucha Cartel. After which, we wrapped up sight-seeing and headed back to the hotel for a fresher-upper and late check out.
Before heading to Citizens Bank Ballpark, I first went searching for the old Shibe Park/Connie Mack Stadium historic marker. Then it was off to see the Phillies host the Pirates.
