Brooklyn Nets: Drop First Road Game To Heat

Kings County Cagers Wilt In Miami Heat.

Okay Brooklyn, you have now lost your first two games, and first road game in NBA basketball history.  Congratulations.  However, good luck dealing with Coach Avery after this last one.


In their first loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Nets let a twenty two point lead wither away.  They played suspect 4th quarter defense for the second consecutive game.  Wednesday night against the Heat, Brooklyn's offense can be summed up in one word - Futile.


Deron Williams led Nets scoring with fourteen points.  But he also led his team with seven turnovers. Deron had three assists all game and never made it to the line.  The greater problem however was in team scoring.  The Nets shot 37.5% from the field, and were an amateurish 3/21 from three point range.


Very early on, we are starting to find out just how important Gerald Wallace is to the Nets.  Of course that's purely based on game one of the season, because that's all we have.  Then again, missing Gerald Wallace doesn't nearly explain a mere seventy three points and nineteen turnovers Wednesday night in South Beach.  The Nets failed to score over twenty points in three of the four quarters against Miami.


After what I believe will be an extra-rigorous day of practice, the Nets will continue their Florida swing in Orlando Friday night, in the first game of a home and home series against the Magic.
