NJ/BKN NETS ~ Signs Point Closer To Home

From the desk of:  THE HOOPS of FLATBUSH

NJ/BKN NETS :  A New Sign Brings The Nets' Message Closer To Home.

The last signage I discovered was placed in a phone booth window (left), across the street from this larger billboard over Fulton Street at Flatbush Avenue (right) that has since been removed.

The latest location of choice promoting the Nets' relocation to Brooklyn lies a lot more closer to their future home than the last few signs have.  This time the Nets secured a spot right across the street from the Barclays construction site at Dean Street and Flatbush Avenue.

This is the first signage to face the south-bound traffic along Flatbush Avenue.  Previously, all signs could only be red by north-bound drivers en-route to the Manhattan Bridge while exiting Brooklyn.  This new sign instead greets the driving public after having crossed the Bridge into Brooklyn and through the Flatbush Avenue Extension.

Meanwhile, on the other side of Dean Street,

These days, construction work has been concentrated along Flatbush Avenue between Dean Street and Atlantic Avenue.  This portion comprises what will be the main entrance to the arena.  The plaza will come to a point facing westward down Atlantic Avenue towards the setting sun.

In the following pictures, concrete monoliths are being lowered into place and starting to define the escalating rows for seating surrounding the inner-bowl.

  3. Great stuff, man. I live in Jersey and go to several games every year, but I'm as pumped as anyone for the new home at Atlantic and Flatbush.

  4. Thanks Wali. It's great to hear Jersey is still behind them in spite of the move.
