NJ/BKN NETS ~ Barclays Shadows The Ghost Of Ebbets

From the desk of:  The Hoops of Flatbush

Brooklyn's Barclays Center Construction
a/o May 11, 2011

Looking towards Dean Street and Flatbush Avenue, from 6th Avenue and Pacific Street.

Below, corner of Dean Street and Flatbush Avenue.

Work completed over the winter along Atlantic Avenue at 6th Avenue.

Look carefully in the lower right portion of the picture above.  Across the street from Barclays along
Atlantic Avenue lies one of the two Atlantic Terminal shopping centers riddled with reminders this is where the new Ebbets Field should have been built for the Dodgers.  At last, in a little over a year from now, Professional Sports will soon return to it's rightful place in Brooklyn.

This billboard on the left located at Fulton Street and Flatbush Avenue has run it's course.
It's been removed but it hasn't gone away totally.
A smaller version has reappeared on a telephone booth (right) directly across the street.

Thirteen months and counting...

  2. There's a ton of people who believe that team is still here.
